Annual Chamber of Commerce Banquet:  The Chamber appreciates it locals and our businesses. We recognize those that provide professional and courteous service to the community and exhibits initiative in enhancing their business and the community.  We also recognize citizens and volunteers that have shown great compassion and service to their community. 

Watonga Business of the Year:  Apple Market
Apple Market has provided valuable, professional and courteous service to the community and exhibited imitative in enhancing its business and the community.  Apple Market has maintained the momentum from the 2013 remodeling and continues to improve product selection and has provided excellent customer service.  

Watonga New Business of the Year:  Big Bobbins
Big Bobbins has provided valuable, professional and courteous service to the community.  Big Bobbins is an excellent place for youth to learn, great shop and has provided a service solely needed by our community. 

Watonga Citizen of the Year:   Mary Lee Jones
Ms. Jones has demonstrated excellence in her business and profession, and have provided valuable service to her business and our community, and has exhibited initiative in enhancing her business.  Ms. Jones is a wonderful leader in our community, and is willing to step-up and complete necessary tasks. 

Business Beautification of the Year :  Ye Olde Laundromatte
Ms. Bradford’s enhancement and investment in her business has brought beauty and service to the community of Watonga.  Ye Olde Laundromatte’s improvements on a run-down building have changed an eyesore into something pretty. Ms. Bradford has shown pride in her business and provided a wonderful service to her customers.    

Watonga Volunteer of the Year:   Anita Woodruff
Anita has shown dedication and outstanding service into Watonga.   Anita puts a lot of her heart into this community.  Very few people realize the time or money she puts into this community because what she does is done way behind the scenes and she is one who left hand doesn’t know what the right hand is doing.  I knew that only she and the vet know how many cats she has rescued and had spayed or neutered to help control the town cat population.  If only all of us were that responsible for our animals. 

Watonga Teacher of the Year:   Sherrie Plummer

Lifetime Achievement Award:   Leroy Lage
The Chamber of Commerce would like to recognize Mr. Leroy Lage for his lifetime of exceptional skill, leadership, and professionalism while serving the city & citizens of Watonga.

MARCH 6-8, 2015

      Watonga Trout Derby:  A fun-filled weekend for anglers of all ages who travel from all across Oklahoma for a chance to win one of the many cash prizes. The Derby is always the first weekend in March.  Hosted at the beautiful Roman Nose State Park.  Spend some quality time with your little fisherman and come out for a weekend!   Online Registration & Rules available by clicking here.

Watonga Town-Wide Garage Sale: We are environmentally conscious.  The Town-Wide Garage sale is always the first Saturday in June.  The Garage Sale is advertised in all newpapers in the area, added to the community calendar and promoted through social media.   For only $5.00, your address will be added to the “Garage Sale Map”, the maps are distributed to local convenience stores.  Call the Chamber of Commerce for more information.

Watonga Cheese & Wine Festival:  The Festival is a long standing attraction to Watonga.  The Festival is always the second weekend in October.  The Festival features cheese & wine tasting, arts, crafts, and entertainment.  FREE for military & children 12 and under, $5.00 for everyone elseSee our Cheese & Wine Festival website for more information.
